In 1944, it was about selling a car he couldn’t take to World War II. Today, more than 60 years later, it’s a three generation family owned and operated business that serves the community he’s lived in all his life. For Ernest Crump, selling cars wasn’t the original plan, but it has become the third love of his life. He’ll be happy to tell you about how God and his wonderful wife take the first two spots respectively.


What was once a hobby is now Ernest Crump Motor Company, a very successful automobile retail company located on the same corner in downtown Jasper that it has been for the last 60 years. Ernest doesn’t believe in selling “used” vehicles. He sells “previously-owned” vehicles. At Ernest Crump Motor Company you’ll find late-model, low-mileage, well-equipped cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs. We don’t sell anything we wouldn’t proudly drive ourselves and our families in.

"I recently bought my fourth car from Ernest Crump Motors, but it is just a continuation of a long family tradition of buying quality cars from Ernest. I remember coming to Ernest Crump Motors as a boy with my grandfather when he traded for a 64 Impala. It was 1965 and I was eleven years old. I remember Pa and my dad talking about Ernest always standing behind his cars and having the best selection of cars anywhere. It is still true. I buy from Ernest because I know there is value here that supercedes other reasons for buying. I am always treated more like family than a customer. Ernest knew my grandfather, my dad, my mom...I guess they are family. I will certainly pass on this family tradition to my sons.
